Active Travel Groups

As part of achieving our aim of having more people participating in active travel (walking, cycling, scooting, wheeling, horse riding) on this page we publicise groups that provide organised activities. If you know of a group in the Whitby area that is not listed please let us know.

LoveToRide is a free service providing a way of logging your rides and, with that, providing added motivation for cycling.

  • Log your rides either using their APP, or by entering them manually, or by connecting Strava.
  • This is for all levels of riders, not just the experts!
  • You can share your bike stories, which helps others getting active.
  • They hold regular competitions, which helps massively with motivation. You can win weekly prizes, or maybe a cash prize at the end of a competition.
  • You may find people near you doing similar rides and can link up.
  • They have many interesting pages with useful info and tips for making the most of your rides.

Their current competition (Winter Wheelers) is running during December 2024 and January 2025. You can find details HERE.
